It will never end, He (Martin) will just keep killing off the characters you invested time in and introducing mediocre ones as replacements, it's essentially the wheel of time all over again.

I watched all of season 1 on virgin and loved it then i moved to sky and they were on the third serious couldn't make out what I've missed so lost interest

the way things are going just now the tv show will overtake the books and HBO have said they won't wait
