"£100 fine if hog middle lane or tailgate. Police have missed a chance to add to that list surely? Parking nearly a cars length but just not quite from next car, surely thats a crime??? lol, any others?"

"HGV's deciding the HGV in front is doing 0.5mph slower than their HGV and taking half a year to pass them on the 2 lane M8, bunching up 20 other cars, yet yer all meant to be restricted to the same speed?" And in doing so give a fraction of a seconds notice from one blink of their indicators (aka my 'I can go anywhere lights') before pulling out into your path as you were about to pass at higher speed.

They ignore oncoming traffic from behind to summarily indicate and pull out immediately. Any driver has responsibility to ensure they do not cause others to have to brake sharply or swerve.
"Is it just the middle lane hoggers that get fined.... Does that mean you could drive from Glasgow to Carlisle in the outside lane at 70 mph and not get fined..... Plus how will the police tell how long you have been in the middle lane....and how long do you have to be there for it to be too long... Confused.com" The police will properly asses, watch, etc, before deciding to pull you over. On the flippside, they do have the clout to decide your a total hinderance to others wishing to drive progressively as they term it, and pull you over for driving like miss daisy too,,lol true!

Yes, i get that bit,,indeed i have to drive with that assumption on a daily basis, using the middle lane, 3am, london to edinburgh for example, quiet, yet passing HGV's in inside lane that will want to pass each other etc. Hate to think what may happen if i just assmed and hoped they should and must see me approaching, what? Just because im going faster? Doubt that will in anyway save my ass!

And in defence of lorry drivers like myself,we are not all bad drivers and most are, youll find, very courteous

Not at all, im saying,,, telling yourself, im going quicker, therefore i hope you see me, is not really defensive driving is it, more like simply presumptuous. Yes, i expressed my dislike of HGV manouveres on the road, but having zero respect for them and pretending they aint there sounds like a recipe for disaster really.

Who has ever pretended they are not there? My very point was about hgv's driving as if I (or anyone else) wasn't there by pulling out without regard to rules of the road, courtesy or safety. Now that's a recipe for disaster. Moreover, I do find it curious you assume I drive with an 'I'm faster than you' disregard for other road users. Isn't that highly presumptuous?

" Good grief, are going round in circles here? In the process of passing slower traffic you are travelling at say 60 mph. An hgv you are about to pass simultaneously indicates and pulls out without any other warning directly in front of you causing you and any cars behind you to brake hard. You then have to wait while that same lorry passes another lorry at a speed differential of perhaps 1mph.
"Reads like,, im going at "higher speed", therefore, hope you see me, dont care if you do or dont because,, Hello! im going at,,,,higher speed, marvelous! " Rubbish! It reads like I hope and expect other road users to be aware of my oncoming presence as I am of theirs. If I see faster traffic bearing down on me I would not deem it sensible or considerate to impede their progress unnecessarily.

Is your car restricted to 55mph? NO!! You have the acceleration/power to get by most things i bet, Yes! Are you on a nail biting tight schedule to get from A to B, probably not, jumped in car to go shops or go see someone, all the time in the world, yet you dare assume because you regard yourself as "going faster" will be seen, and nothings getting in your way. Thats not defensive, its presumptuous and all you will ever do, is hit the brakes and find yourself tutting and sighing, lol x

"Twats who toot their horn as they drive off from whoever they've been visiting whilst waving like morons. You've already said goodbye at the door so now just kindly get in your car and fuck off. Idiots who drive right up somebody's rear end as they are in process of reversing in to a space. Bus drivers. Cyclists who think they are exempt from the rules of the road. Shitebags who park so close that you can't get in your own car. Taxi drivers. Whallopers who don't use indicators as well as those who indicate inappropriately and also don't turn them off. Scumbags who are unaware of the give way to the right rule at roundabouts. And yes, arrogant fucks who drive in the wrong lane. If you aren't overtaking or turning right move the fuck over. It's not for you to decide what speed others will drive at." ah...youve seen the ex hubs driving skills then???? Lol.
