"Having a pin removed from my wrist to find out if I need further surgery what's it like "
A good rule of thumb (sorry) is that if a doctor is happy to do a procedure under a local it's probably not going to be so uncomfortable you'll be wriggling about.
The best thing is that you get to watch and tell your pals what happened. |

Worked in anaesthetics and theatres for years.
They wouldn't even consider it if they thought for a moment you'd be in pain.
It's much better to have local than a general...a general anaesthetic is always more risky x |

"Had the snip with a local anaesthetic.
Watched every cut, snip and stitch....Only the soldering iron thingy that made my toes curl up. LOL"
Me too - although I didn't have a soldering iron used lol
And I would go with the Kountess on this one too, local is always better and less risky than general |

Ditto except that they never explained what was happening. I though the snip was a cut, I asked what was burning and the surgeon said "you". |

There is nothing to worry about, more and more op's are being done under locals I had a knee op under a local and felt nothing. Only problem was it took longer than expected to wear off and I almost ended up staying the night as it was an epidural and I couldn't walk.
Locals save on overnight stays and nursing costs. |

Had a lump removed first ever op and I was shiting myself.
It was done by a plastic surging as it was in a visible place.
apart from the injections(anastetic) and knowing he was digging in my face it was all good.
potty he couldn't make me any better looking.
I did ask but he said he was a plastic surgeon not a magician.
