Finally, we have a Scottish Wimbledon Champion.

So many people had written him off, but the lad done good and made us proud.

Fair enough, there are people that don't follow sport. But to have so many write the lad off before the match and to beat a former Wimbledon Champion in straight sets, then that is a commendable win in my book.

AND NEVER LOST A SET!!!!!!

Sorry if this offend Mr Gemini, but I happen to be proud to be Scottish. He was up against a formidable player and rocked him down in straight sets to win the title.

It's been 77 years sins a Brit has won Wimbledon, so the fact a YOUNG SCOT has done it is an extra reason to feel proud!! Especially if you think of what he has gone though to get there...

Even better was that he was so meek in accepting the cup, wanted to sign autographs. He even forgot to hug his mum (LMFAO).

We may not have a nation of great sportsmen (footie), but NO-ONE expected that today.

Olympic Gold, Open Champ and Wibble Champ

The lad is now a ledge!!! In my opinion anyway.

I wasn't aware anyone had "written him off".

Lots of opinions as to WHEN he might win for the first time but nobody doubt that he would, at some point, win.

I hate numpties like him who tempt fate, The (well at least nothing else can go wrong type)Well done Andy Marray you did it despite aholes like Castle

more north lincs than mids!

Had to listen to it on 5Live and it was nervewracking.

The commentators on there weren't much better than Andrew Castle tho. First they had Djokovic gone after the first set, then he won a couple of games back and Andy was defeated according to them. They should learn to comment on the actual game and not what they think the players are thinking.

Listening on radio is murder i watched some on telly went out in car and had it on and you'd think murray was getting whipped according to radio.

77 years was a helluva wait. Pretty sure we won't be waiting that long again as Murray's got a good few more majors in him yet

We watched it on BBC. To say they so wanted Andy to get beat is pretty ridiculous.

I'm a Scot, married to an Englishman, and we are both over the moon that he won. Even our 4 year old was cheering him on

Goodness i grew up baffled at the fact Wimbledon was in Britain, yet nobody British was ever good enough to bloomin win it.

Dyou not remember the sports pundits wettin their knickers if a Brit got through to the third round? All the hype n nonsense that brought.

And now, now its happened, i still think its Awsome,

Wether your English, or Scottish, the fact is Andy Murray, has done bloody marvellously in tennis, multi-millionaire, string of tournaments to his name and now the most coveted of all Wimbledon Champ, I always believed he would do it, despite his doubters in the British media, lets all get behind him, whether we are born English or Scottish, the fact is the Boy Done Good

He was outstanding, 3 straight sets !! Well done Andy!! I was in total tears so happy for him. Especially with the background he has for the little town of Dunblane, it gives a little bit of sunshine back after them being under a stormy cloud so long.....

Well done sunshine, the whole of Scotland and Britain are utterly proud !!
