What's your best excuse?

Some of the excuses for not paying your TV license are hilarious and are given below;

"Apparently my dog, which is a corgi, was related to the Queen's dog so I didn't think I needed a TV licence"

"Why would I need a TV licence for a TV I stole? Nobody knows I've got it"

"Only my three-year-old son watches the TV. Can you take it out of the family allowance I receive for him? He watches it so he should pay"

"I had not paid as I received a lethal injection"

"I don't want to pay for a licence for a full year. Knowing my luck I'll be dead in six months and won't get value for money"

"I have lost weight recently and had to buy new clothes. That's why I could not afford to buy a TV licence"

What's the best excuse you've heard or been given, it could be anything from a missed meet to lost homework.

I know someone who got taken to court for non payment and WON!!!

They claimed he had a tv so he needed a tv licence. He pointed out it was a monitor NOT a tv as it had no tuner - the judge agreed with him

Oh, and can I just ask why most of us bother as we either pay sky or virgin hundreds of pounds a year for watching around 20 hours of BBC programming every year

we were renovating a flat which had lain empty for 6 months and got a letter demanding payment. They sent another letter stating they were coming to inspect the property (aye right). When they did arrive and found there was no tv in the building they said we had been wasting "THEIR" time. BTW you dont have to let them enter your property unless they have a warrant which they never have.

Guess what, Surprise surprise they don't need a warrant, they have a statuary right of entry to your home.
