Just saw this story in Metro:
"If you like using whips and chains in the bedroom, you may be healthier than those who do not, a new survey suggests.
People taking part in bondage, discipline, sadism and masochism (BDSM) were more comfortable in their relationships than others who chose to play it straight down the line, the Journal of Sexual Medicine reported.
The adventurous lovers were also less anxious and could deal better with rejection, according to the Nyenrode Business University report.
Psychologist Andreas Wismeijer, who is a researcher on the project, added: ‘[BDSM practitioners] either did not differ from the general population and if they differed, they always differed in the more favorable direction.’
The study involved 902 people that were into BDSM and 434 that did not partake in the risqué sexual play.
They were asked questions that delved into different aspects of their personality, including how they dealt with rejection and overall wellbeing."
