Does anyone believe in astrology?
Read their star signs in the paper, even just for fun or boredom. (I tend only to read mine when bored on the train)
If you know anything about about your star sign in the bigger picture, do you agree with it: both good and bad characteristics?
What does your star sign say about you? |

I am also a Scorpio, I would agree my star sign is completely right |

Scorpios' are the sexiest sign? Sexier than the twins? There's two of us.
I think that's it's us Gemini that are the sexiest.
If anyone disagrees, the only one way to find out: Let's meet up and test the theory? |

I was born on 21st May which is on the border between Taurus and Gemini. When I was born my mum said it was Gemini but over the years I've been pushed into Taurus in most publications lol
I used to skim them years ago but honestly couldn't tell you the last time I read my horoscope

I'm Pisces sun, cancer rising and saggi moon, Yes my natal chart fits me very well. I've got my Mars in Aries so very quick temper.
In traditional astrology your rising sign says a lot about you, so I can be very cancer as well. |

Born on the cusp of Gemini/Cancer here... so outwardly sociable, life and soul of the party etc one min. Can be a tough cookie on the outside, but soft as anything on the inside. |

Lol OK you asked for it!
Your natal chart is a picture of the sky when you were born. Modern astrologers make the sun sign as the most important but the other planets play a big part. Also the sign that was on the horizon at your time of birth is important.
sun = outward you, the face you present to the world.
Moon = inner you, your emotions.
Mars = your passion, what gives you drive and your anger.
Rising sign = you.
So for me:
Sun = Pisces, dreamy, off the wall, have difficulties with knowing boundaries.
Moon = Sagittarius, fiery, always looking for new things, easily distracted, my friend calls Sagittarius people shagattarians
Mars = Ares, fiery temper, jump into things without thinking.
Rising sign = cancer, caring, giving, home is very important, can be Moody.
Go on line and you can get a free natal chart, it'll show you where all the planets were at your birth. You will need to know your date, time and place of birth.

"Total rubbish, I am a capricorn, from what I read in a star sign book, I was born under the wrong sign as it definitely isn't me"
I cant yes or no to any opinion on it, dont know enough.
I do think certain things that happen/occur to anyone are partly mapped out, if it be characteristics, circumstances, occurances, all for a reason.
Some people do have sixth sense, someone in my family, from nowhere had a cold shudder from nowhere go through her on boxing day years ago, and she said how she suddenly sensed something terrible had happened. |

Your sun is only a part of the whole thing, it maybe un-aspected so is weak. Find out your rising sign that may well be more accurate Xx
Or don't Lol |

"The sixth sense coincided with the tsunamy that year, boxing day.
That is kind of a perfect example of where Occam's razor applies." Will have to shoogle it, the person affected by it had to stop carving the chicken, stand still till the cold shudders and sudden sense of something terrible going on went.
A few hours later clicked on the news and we know the rest. |

Don't wanna get into a whole philosophical debate (I have another forum for that ) but basically it states that where there are 2 competing explanations, the simpler one is the better.
In this case the 2 possible explanations would be 1) Someone had a sort of premonition, that is outwith our scientific knowledge, of an impending disaster. 2) Someone had a shudder and felt something bad may have happened (as millions of people over the world probably do every day) and there was a tragic disaster that day. A coincidence, but a common one. |

While I do agree with the possibility of 2, I'm always reminded that back in the 1700s (I think) a great thinker of the time said "we know everything there is to know" and it reminds me that science is a constantly evolving thing that doesn't have all the answers.
What is out of our scientific knowledge now may not be in 50-100 years.

I am a Boxing Day baby born in 1960 around 6pm I believe. The star sign book said that we are leaders and our career is important, that we work our way up to management and that we like hot spicy food, the hotter the better, hell not a chance, cannot abide anything spicy and no interest in climbing the corporate ladder.
I have seen though from here that some traits of Sagittarius are more me |

Don't know about the quote from the 1700's but every scientist today accepts there are things we still don't know. That's the great thing about science, the continuing striving for knowledge and understanding. And we benefit from this everyday of our lives.
Re premonitions, psychic abilities etc etc everytime these have been put to the test using scientific methods they have failed miserably. There's an organisation that has offered a prize for anyone who can demonstrate supernatural or paranormal activities and in the 49 years it has been offered not one person has been able to claim it. The prize is currently $1 million. |
