Local police camera van been seen in local dogging spots filming vehicles etc. This can take images from over a mle away so beware of what you are doing and where. Just proves that recent pocal media focus has been noted by police and they are out to clean up the venues.
Also be sensible about discussing meets and venues never in public domain and be sensible with private messages too this is hard enough now in the computer age and the cops aint daft. Be safe folks and be sensible |

like the police have nothing better to do..they cannot catch the scum of the earth who burgle our houses and rape our women,,they have to persecute consenting adults who are having adult fun,,no one gets hurt,,I have to question who really are the perverts.. doggers or the twat police who hide away filming people engaging in consenual sex..hmmm |

Perhaps because the people 'engaging in consensual sex' are breaking the law when they do it in a PUBLIC place? |

Anyone engaged in any form of sexual cotact or exposure in a public place is breaking the law so there really isn't an arguement, however in saying that there are more important things for the police to be getting on with than trying to catch people enjoying themselves and harming nobody |

Hands down the funniest post I've read in ages. Not only anti police but factually wrong in every respect. Good work though, keep it up. |

There's pretty strict rules about the traffic camera vans and they're not allowed to use the video equipment for anything other than traffic matters otherwise it's classed as unauthorised surveillance so I very much doubt this statement is correct. Probably just happens to be pointing in roughly the same direction of this dogging area. |

"I am not sure it is illegal to have sex outdoors, I thought if someone saw you and it caused them distress you can be arrested.
"
It's in the interest of the police/ COPFS to keep this uncertaintly going.
Regardless of the legality or otherwise of having sex outdoors, there's always the fall-back charge of breach of the peace to ensure you can be arrested and put before the courts. |

I parked up to do a little evening fishing on a car park on the Fife coastal path with my son and came back late to have to walk through the car park full of guys wanking who did not even have the decency to stop.
Kite surfing and a BBQ at Tenstmuir came back to people dogging next to the cars, luckily we were all adults at that one but there was no discretion. the car park now has a times barrier to stop it.
After a beach barbecue at a Fife beach one summer night I walked back to the car to find doggers at it in the car park. I ended up calling the police because a couple of guys were waving their dicks and propositioning a 14 year old girl.
Nothing wrong with consensual fun but some people are just stupid and deserve to hit with stick like a human pinata. These are the people who are causing the problem.
Doggers can complain about the police but they need to get their own house in order first. |

"Strictly speaking it is not illegal to go dogging...it is illegal to do it in places where people should not expect to see it...moot point really"
So basically if your not caught your not breaking the law? That's great I'm off to burgle some houses, if I'm not caught or seen then its not illegal lol |

then its not illegal lol" imagine the chaos if for example everyone fessed up to going over speedlimit in car and queued up to own up to it at the local police station. its a bit like that doing something technically wrong but simply getting away with it...burglary is kinda obvious. |

I think what it says is...unless someone objects to it and tells the police then you probably won't be done for it as sex outside isn't techinally illegal.
However as Onny pointed out, they could nick you on indecent exposure type laws if the police decide at the time. |

This is not a traffic camera van but the anti social behaviour van used for youth gangs , anti social behaviour and other such things rarely used for traffic as not equipped for speed detection but very equipped for watching at a distance, no one was dogging in fact there was only a few cars a family a dog walker and some one eating food but the camera had a good scan as you can see it swivel |

Spot on, and i would take a guess that when the dogging is going on at night then really the only other people going to those kind of places at that time of night will be other doggers.
In my own naive way i like to think that the police would turn up and just go again if no one has made a complaint, i have only been questioned once by the police in a dogging location in over 10 years |

And mostly that's what happens.
Occasionally, however, one of the participants can get a bit vocal about 'civil liberties' or 'don't you ****s have anything better to do' and the next thing they know, they're facing breach of the peace/ public order charges and possible inclusion on the Sex Offender Register. |

My understanding of the law is this if you are parked up fully clothed then the police can stop search you and your car and ask you what you are doing at that spot. If they are satisfied you are not planning to or have the means to commit an offense then they may warn you and order you to move on. The reason there is usually 2 officers is one to be shocked and report it to the other. Then there is a charge etc. I once heard a guy say "he was looking for sex" to cops they were shocked but couldn't do anything cause he added "I meet them down here and go back to my house and have sex with strangers. You can't do nothing with that because I just described every nightclub and pub in Scotland and you don't arrest them" the cops left shaking their heads they could do nothing.
Best advice for dogging is meet and arrange whats what In one spot then go somewhere else for fun, somewhere out of way of innocents and non participants. That way evqeryone gets by with a smile. |

The reason cops in Scotland travel in twos (apart from the fact the get lonely) is to provide the legally required corroboration in Scots Law.
The Scottish Executive is currently looking at abolishing the need for corroboration. This is a slippery slope. |
