Hello Scottish folk
I’m coming up for the rugby this weekend and looking for some suggestions on good bars to watch the game followed by live music and a serious selection to of whisky. 🥃

Thanks in advance |

It's hard to go wrong on a rugby weekend.
West end bars are all good on rugby weekends. Angels share well be heaving after the game - great whisky bar. Ghille dhu and the hidden bar in the basement also great for those nights.
A session in the Grassmarket/cowgate later is also recommended.
Everywhere is walkable really.
Murrayfield/Haymarket/William st for match day drinking |

Id reply with more 1-1 but filters prevent that.
If you are coming to Edinburgh alone I could quite happily be a mini tour guide for a free drinks and a laugh ! |

The whole of Edinburgh is amazing when the Welsh are up the grass market area is a popular place but rose street and George street will also be very good just follow the crowds and enjoy your weekend |

"Try the three sisters, the pear tree and the black bull are all lively pubs, all on the old town side of (castle side) of the railway. I much prefer old town to new town tbh"
Personally I'd avoid all of those places! Full of students.
Haymarket area for rugby |

"Go just a little further down Frederick and Stockbridge awaits, lovely wee village in the city. Depends just what or who you are up for! "
I have stayed in Stockbridge before. What a beautiful place 🤩
Bailie bar was right around the corner and I got friendly with the people there. The owner is Welsh. So I’ll be sure to pay them a little visit 😊 |

The Baillie is a cracking pub; Hectors just further down on the corner also good. Thistle St bar, Kay’s or Thomsons bar get my vote |
