They charge at least three times as much for storm repairs as folk are desperate to get the job done
So a cosmetic job like facia and gutters is not a priority to them and most will only take it when works slow |

Storm damage repair will get priority for sure as most likely causing water ingress and long lasting damage.
Any tradesman worth his salt will not charge any more for these repairs unless it's an emergency call out to fix say a broken window or water pouring into property.

We have all seen the “comedy” memes that go about when there’s a storm of roofers and fencers rubbing their hands at the thought of making big bucks on repairs

Yes I'm sure some do charge more. Supply and demand just as with any other service.

Also most of these repairs are through insurance are they not? It will be the insurance company that decides on the cost that they are willing to pay. |

As someone who was out working during the storm on emergency call-outs, I can see both sides of this.
Yes there is the potential for increased prices DURING the storm as there is increased risk to working in it.
But to profit more than normal once the storm has passed is not right - and that’s not just the workers, the suppliers are probably worse as demand increases for things like roof tiles and fencing material, the suppliers up their prices. |

Your absolutely right
I didn’t say it was right I just pointed out price increase happens when there’s been a storm.
As you’ve said the suppliers increase their prices
So the roofers and the fencers will inevitably have to or else it’s costing them to do the repairs. |
