how much has celebrating new year changed since you were young? can remember sitting with the parent's until you had your first footer at the bells then getting dragged from neighbour to neighbour

Yes it's all different now no one bothers these days remember mum.and dad having stake pie between bells for last and first meal of the year then as u say up and down all close to see neighbours

Can remember every year my mum and dad having a new year party all the aunties and uncles there.all enjoying a drink and eating cake and shortbread laughing away . nothing like nowadays think most of us go to bed now before the bells now times change

New Year's was family in the house sent outside with a drink and some coal then first foot the neighbors who all came in for a good drink and a laugh.

I remember when i was a child, our house was filled with friends and neighbours having a blast. Ive tried to recreate this for as long as ive been an adult but everyones always got other plants or headed to bed.. it always has just ended up us and the kids. Which is always fun but yanno what they say; the more the merrier.
