Can anyone recommend a good, and free, file converter.

Just bought a new portable dvd player for the kids, but it doesn't support .AVI files which most of my films are.

In the past I downloaded K-Lite Codecs that converted everything for me.

Haven't used it for a year or so but was an excellent programme
