I had a very similar experience I was messaging a couple and turned out they were from same village. Had a few messages back and forth something, I must have said that they realised who I was. They told me they knew me and thought it would be awkward. I said surely not I didn’t think it would but they replied believe us it would as we know you very well lol. I’ve had it happen numerous times. I’ve dealt with it on an individual basis. Some I’ve just politely declined and never mentioned I know them. Others I have disclosed I’ve know them. Some I have gone on to meet, others it has been a thing that’s gone no further than messages. |
