Can't beat the feel and smell of a "real" book.

Dead tree is good... but I prefer e-books, much more portable.

The Galaxy Nexus 7 is a better bet than the Amazon devices, you can still get the kindle app for it, and it's not locked down.

i love my kindle, and my paper books. I have a lot on both formats but do't like damaging the paper so i take the kindle out.

go for the kindle, then you can buy the paper if you really like the book and want to keep it.

MAMOBA, miles and miles of bugger all (Aberdeenshire)

RIP Kindle (I'm more moved by this loss than the other one today...)

I'd have gone with a new kindle too - they are so damned portable. I thought I would hate it, got one for a long hospital stay, and love it now. I do still buy the odd dead tree tome (autobiographies usually) but the kindle all the way!

That's why the OP, if he doesn't already have a tablet, should buy one instead of another Fire HD. Imho.

Love my Kindle. I even wrote a book and had it published with Kindle Direct Publishing. I sell a staggering 3 copies a month on Amazon
