A realistic wish will only come true if you put the work in yourself, the more effort you put in the luckier you get in most situations.
For example, for ages I wished for a bit more responsibility or a promotion at work without ever bothering my arse putting the effort in... Took me a while to figure out that wishing ain't gonna make much come true on its own. |
