It's York Hill Easter bike run on Sunday, usually a great turn out of bikers for a very worth while cause, shame about the weather tho think it'll keep the numbers down this year....
Anyone from here going? |

On Easter Sunday- 31st March 2013, Scotlands' motorcyclists will converge on Glasgows' Royal Hospital for Sick Children, commonly known as "Yorkhill" to deliver cash donations, toys and the odd chocolate egg or two.
After the imposed pre-registration attracted a much expected backlash, the Police and Glasgow City Council have agreed to drop this condition.
The route for 2013 will start and finish at Yorkhill as it did last "YEER" and takes in the traditional spectacular ride-out along Great Western Road.
The YEER website has info on sponsorship and fundraising. |

Well done! in advance to all those bikers who attend Yorkhill, my brother works at Yorkhill, and to see some of those poor kids, suffereing with all kinds of ailments and illnesses, is a terrible thing, so anything that raises money for the kids, and provides the odd egg or two-lol, is all greatly received I'm sure, and shame on Glasgow city council for being so damned draconian last year, limiting numbers, thus limiting donations and gifts for sick kids, how the fekk do they sleep at night? great bunch of peeps these biker lads and lassies are. Good on them for doing this |

There need be no correlation between the numbers attending and the amount donated.
You don't have to attend to donate.
Info on the YEER website.
PS. The City Council acted on the advice of Strathclyde Police. |

errrr............... just remind me, some of those bikers, who attended, are serving police officers, could strathclyde police not find it in their hearts to support a cause that these worth folks attended in their own time,
whatever happened to comradeship and solidarity, or do strathclyde police big-wigs have no sense of community spirit! |

Who are you planning to blame next?
Strathclyde Police, like every other force, make such decisions on the basis of the facts - not their personal enthusiams. |

For those who can't make it yet still wish to contribute, there's a text donation number on the YEER (Yorkhill Easter Egg Run) website.
Texts contribute £5.00 and 100% goes to Yorkhill. |

If you're riding up to the hospital, please enter via Dalnair Street from 11.00 am onwards.
Those wishing to view the riders on the streets should note there's a route map on the YEER website. |

Just been watching all the bikers pass from my window - it's a never ending stream, they're still coming! Never seen this before but looks to be a fantastic turn out and very touching to see. |
