Sandwood Bay beach was amazing when I did it, so remote and wild there. Its about an hours walk from the nearest carpark, so It shouldn't really be busy if you guys want to have some fun there. |

"Needs booking but Capila tapas restaurant in Scrabster (just outside Thurso) is incredible. The Peerie Cafe (also Scrabster) is The place to go for a mega breakfast. "
Oh yeah that tapas place is great! ![](/icons/s/biggrin.gif) |

Lots of secluded and often quiet locations along the route and It’s not just the beaches that are worth an explore but there is lots of amazing inland scenery as well. Plus lots of fantastic eateries along the route too. Feel free to message if you want to know more. |

Not so, its a VERY busy beach in season and NOT a place for play |

Capilla Tapas Restaurant in Scrabster (just outside Thurso) is absolutely worth a visit, as is the Peerie Cafe for breakfast (also Scrabster).
If you like fish, the Captains Galley (Scrabster) does rosette worth locally landed produce and chef is a the best chef I've ever cooked alongside.
Want something less fancy but still amazing? The Chinese Chippy in Wick does the best fish supper I've had outside of Hook, Line, and Sinker (Portsoy).
That's my highlights for Caithness, but to be fair there are a number of high quality eateries in the area.
Feel free to message for any further info ![](/icons/s/biggrin.gif) |
