I would say Monday as that is the start of my working week and also because my legal duties for work run from 1201 am on Monday morning until midnight on a Sunday night

Both are technically correct. Sunday is technically the first day of the week but modern day calenders show Monday as usually the first so technically both are right

Well if you go way back to the apparent creation of earth ....the big man (GOD) began creating on a monday thru to saturday then had a day of rest on sunday ...so i'd go with the start of the week being monday

In the English language, when you are talking about the start of the week, it is officially Sunday. So, if you are mentioning "next week", say on a Thursday, what you are talking about is any time from Sunday onwards. Saturday would still be "this week". You ccouldn't say "later this week" on a Wednesday and be talking about Sunday as Sunday is next week.

However, the "working week" these days depends very much on your own employment circumstances. Our rota starts on a Saturday, for example.
