Anyone know of any Motel style hotels around central Scotland?

You know why we are asking - to avoid the need for folks to go through reception to get to a room! lol

Air BnB can be quite pricey, just looking for somewhere some fun could be had with no hassle..

I've only been to one place that would be suitable but it's a bit pricey. Sweeney apartments and rooms in Motherwell is ideal layout.

It's all codes for main door and rooms. No front desk haha.

Definitely keeping an eye on this thread for recommendations.

We actually stayed in a place in Kirkudbright where all keys were in individual key safes. You were sent the keysafe code when you booked in.

Would be great if we found somewhere around here that did the same..

Yeah keysafe things would be ideal. Takes out the middle man/front desk. More discreet too I guess. Hopefully we discover some of these places in this thread.

Loads of hotels don’t need you to pass reception, and chances are reception don’t care anyway!

Only ones that you need a card to access would be premier inn or travelodge types

The Alona Hotel motherwell and the Jury's inn Glasgow are the two we used for that exact reason..no need to go through reception straight to the lift and up to the room

In similar conversations ppl have mentioned the Castle Cary hotel between Stirling and Glasgow. It does have motel style rooms you access direct from car park
