I, Gordie, spent almost every christmas on my own from about the age of 7 to 18 due to growing up in a childrens home, and being the only one who didnt go home or to thier families home for christmas. Wasnt so bad after a few years and became just a normal day. i recall when i was 18 i spent christmas day up the gallowgate pubs, wasnt much fun. seeing all the poor guys from the hotel up the road and wondering if that would be me.
Since living with the misses and now having our wee chatterbox, plus one on the way i would hate to go back to being on my todd on xmas day.
we are heading out to milngavie for xmas dinner jus the three of us and if your feling low, youd be welcome to come along for a few hours x |

I'll be on my own too - as was last year but I really enjoyed it! Got a bottle of bolly already in the fridge, eat lots of vol au vonts, cheese & chocolates in my jammies - even wrapped a wee pressie for myself & opened it on the day lol!
I'll see my huge extended family Boxing Day and tho a few mates have invited me I'd rather stay put. However, anyone feeling a bit lonely is welcome at mine for a glass of bubbly I live in the east end of Glasgow. xx |

I won't be alone this christmas, yet, you can be in a roomful of people and feel alone.
I am thankful I will have my family around me but still feel the loss of those who cannot be there.
So for those of you who may be temporarily alone while kids are at their 'other' parent or your family are going away, be thankful, they return full of tales of how their christmas went.
I know of a few people who wish they had one last day with a special someone.
Take care all and count your blessings. I do xxxxxx |

I`ve a feeling you`r loss is deep and extremely personal laine..
xmas is always the most traumatic time when you`ve lost someone close,i always hang 2 extra stockings up on xmas eve for 2 poeple that shud have been with me and my daughter...
it`s hard... very hard..
BUT we`ll be here for u if u need a shoulder or an outlet for pent up emotions...
U`r never alone with friends around
