Ok so this sounds a bit sad really but looking for ideas of what to do to maybe meet some new friends. I moved to a new area a number of years ago and haven't really made any pals. I used to do the usual sports like play football and golf but health prohibited that not long after my move.

All idea welcome.

I heard someone talk about a whisky club once! That could be a bad idea

Thanks

Edinburgh

Photography, walking and cycling are common ones.

There's an App and website called Meetup. Take a look at that and see if anything appeals to your interests.

That's exactly the answer I would expect from a serial killer.

Damn, my alter ego has been uncovered.

Seriously though just looking to broaden my friend group after some life changing challenges.

Simple as that really.

Meet up has a lot of different groups depending on what you’re interested in. There’s also Glasgow Skeptics if you like a geeky talk.

You could arrange something on here. We’ve had meet ups for the cinema, walks, coffee, karaoke, etc.

What are you interested in?

I don't mind a bit of geekery lol

Thanks for this though. I used to do a lot of photography. I had a small business but sold most of my kit unfortunately.

Might look out for a camera club maybe.

Thanks again.

That’s your mistake buddy, be a weirdo!

Weirdos make the best of pals. I’m a weirdo and I’ve got…..a friend

Does anyone know of any woodworking clubs in and around Glasgow?

I have MS so can't really take on anything too taxing or expensive.

A charity or community group that do that kind of thing would be great.

There is a Lanarkshire Men’s Shed faceybook group that might be a good place to join and ask. I’m sure people there would sign post you to other local services.

Age Scotland are quite useful for that kind of information around men’s groups too, website:
