I went to see them donkeys ago at Ivory Blacks when they only had one EP out, one of them was jumping from guitar to electric cello & back. It was a good show. I need to get some of their stuff

Greatest Scottish bands for me have to be The Associates, Cocteau Twins, Teenage Fanclub, the Jesus and Mary Chain, Arab Strap, Belle and Sabastian and the Sensational Alex Harvey Band for their influence on music.

Other personal favourites include Orange Juice, Franz Ferdinand, The Skids, Simple Minds, Big Country, Aztec Camera, Altered Images, The Rezillos and The Proclaimers.

Then there's others who have been influential as solo artists or leading other bands, such as Annie Lennox (Tourists/Eurythmics), Billy Mackenzie, Bobby Gillespie (Primal Scream), Momus, Edwyn Collins, David Byrne (Talking Heads), Aidan Moffat...

Possibly the greatest Scottish band in terms of influence, although I don't like them much, were the Average White Band.
