I had a great night at CJ’s. Everyone looked great in their costumes . Ended up having some fun in the cinema room with a couple but don’t remember their names. My arms were like jelly after that  say hi if it was you. I was the Ring Master. Pic up on profile |

Was a great night! Lovely to catch up with friends and meet new ones too.
I was all in blue and silver shoes so if we met feel free to say hi though I may be mostly hibernating/recovering today (not so much from booze but from all the dancing!).

Yes agree with that good to have the extra space.
I did find the change around with the cloakroom/kitchen threw me a bit 
But I totally understand why they did it that way it was soooooo busy! |

I had a cracking night too, head to toe in pink (Ken from barbie) dishing out the love hearts whilst spending half my night with my tongue tickling the corpse brides tonsils.
Thanks to all of you that came and chatted, meant a lot

Yea I think he and I chatted in the corridor at some point as I checked and he was dressed as Goose? I’m a big too gun fan so loved the costume. |

Think I saw the person with glows sticks at some point. Missed the love hearts (Damn! Love a sweetie!)
I’ve seen it busier in terms of more crowded for previous Hallowe’ens and the masquerade ball last year, definitely good they opened the extra space as that was really too crowded squeezing past people in the bar etc. |

We were at this party as well and trying to talk with 4 different couples, but somehow we were rejected. I was lady in red with my masculine tall bold goblin.
This was unpleasant experience and we do not know if we will come back again. It's not about the townhouse (everything was very well organised) it all bout that we had no friends there to party and it was hard to make a connection. Let before the midnight.
Ok, we will try other ways to find suitable people |

That's a shame. There was a lot going on that night maybe on a quieter night you might have a better experience "
I agree with this, whilst the theme nights are so busy and it's great to see everyone's outfits it can be hard to interact with people. I'd suggest giving it another try before writing it off. |

It’s always worth considering the pre-club drinks as that’s how you meet people and have friendly faces to hang with when you get to the club. If you’re reasonably new to the club scene I can highly recommend also attending some socials, that’s an easy way to meet people to sit with at clubs. There’s two regular Glasgow ones every week - a pub quiz and a Sunday coffee meet. I believe there’s a regular Edinburgh social as well, Dundee is just starting off regular social meets and Aberdeen has a monthly one. |

I might be a bit harsh here but tbh I think this statement reflects pretty badly on you guys rather than cjs, the night or the rest of the people there. We talk to loads of couples and singles there but don’t necessarily want to go upstairs to play straight away.
By rejected did you ask them to play or just that they didn’t ask you? Sometimes things don’t get going till after midnight.
We go with the pretext of enjoying the night and maybe meeting people that we connect with, I’ve never came away from any club night or party feeling disappointed that we didn’t play with others. Maybe we are different from the poster of this message.
Sorry to hear that you didn’t have a good experience though and hopefully you find what you guys are looking for.

I primarily go for the social side. Been to cjs couple dozen times and can count on one hand the times iv played. |

Because English is our third language I might not express ourselves very well.
We did not offer anyone to go upstairs! We just wanted to chat, make friends.
We respect ourselves and others, no pressure at all! And we are not that desperate. We are quite new and we had no idea where are pre-club things going.

Sorry that you feel the need to express that you didn't have a good night.
The staff all try their best to make everyone feel comfortable and havr the best night.
Unfortunately you selected one of the busiest night to go if that was your 1st time at cjs.
Not everyone would have been there to play upstairs. On the big social events you find that alot of people are there to socialise mostly due
To the effort they have put into costumes.
As already stated on the forum there is always a pre drink invite that you could attend, and is a good way to mix with others that will be going.
Just because you spoke with 4 couples should not have put you off as there was 100's of other people.
It could be that they were only their as friends of cj's and that it was cjs birthday party. Or maybe they just didn't like what the conversation you were having..
Maybe try a night that isn't themed like a fun for all or couples single females night before deciding if you don't want to go back again.
Or it could just possibly be that the club Atmosphere just isn't what you are looking for and in that case good luck finding what your looking for |
