I am not a personal trainer but sure I can help out. What are you looking to do? I am sure there are many people that can help. But it all depends what you’re looking to do. I would say look at diet and start off with body weight exercises and light weights. |

I'm exactly in the same position, need to at least a stone if not 1.5st, started small things, cut out sugar and sweeties, had a few injuries and no spare ti.e, the last few years, but going to shame myself by putting a picture up of my shape, and hopefully, put a later one up of my new shape |

At its basic level it’s quite simple. Weight, cardio and watch what you are eating. Most gyms do induction sessions. PTs are great but if you have the discipline you can do it yourself, subject to someone at the gym showing you how to use the equipment. |

I agree.
I used to work in a gym and deliver inductions to newbies.
I don't agree with personal training. The motivation has to come from within yourself.

"Anyone know of any decent personal trainers need to get my body in to shape and don’t know where to start lol x "
All a personal trainer will do is tell you what to do, you can tell yourself what to do, you don’t even need a gym. There’s an endless supply of workouts you can to at home just watching YouTube, and you can also take great diet advice there also |

Sometimes its the accountability that helps get the diacipline in place |

There is a PT online who provides great healthy recipes (simple to follow cause I can do them!) then if you exercise more it should help get you started
I say this and haven’t actually started a proper exercise routine myself but I am eating healthier |

The majority of gym chains will have PT’s who have passed their 12 week crash course qualification to then issue workouts taken from NASM templates.
If you want to amuse yourself with these PT’s tell them you have a specific muscle condition such as SPS or osteoarthritis in your ankles or hips. They will not have a clue what to say and ‘will get back to you’ later in the day/week.
You would be paying far too much money for a shite service.

Exactly that hence why a lot of them are trained virtually! Without setting foot in a gym !
I am a qualified personal trainer and have been for 20 years of course I can’t see you in person but feel free to message me with your goals , injuries and time constraints and I can guide you of course |

You are exactly right! A lot of personal trainers have just done some online course and think they are now qualified to the same degree as a physiotherapist!
To the OP, in my opinion, I’d pick a PT that clearly has lots of experience, is well educated (ask to see credentials) and can back it up with the results from other clients! Best of luck! |

A personal trainer caused me to hurt my knee after encouraging me to push a wall sit and a bursae formed after I fell to my butt lol I couldn't do the excercise cause according to a physio I really should have strengthened my knees first. I don't have confidence in PTs |

I learned via the one method of a HND and further practical learning courses. These online tutorials are so dangerous.
Another fun way to confuse them is to ask for an opinion on your macros for maintaining weight at your age. Watch them stutter
It’s really not their fault, but that if the employers not training keen staff correctly. |
