I am putting out feelers here in the forum to gauge how people would feel about a ( national scottish social ) like trying to bring all socials from all over scotland together ( Highlands, Inverness, Aberdeen, Dundee, Perth , Edinburgh (surrounding areas ) Glasgow ( surrounding areas ) Ayrshire, Dumfries, ETC,.
I know it would take a lot of planning , venues and people Etc but it would be a great opportunity for people too meet up from all over , ( venues could be anything , Ie horse race meeting 4 courses in scotland ( Perth , Musselburgh, Hamilton & Ayr ) open air concerts ( ie T n the park , Rockness , ) or just the good old camping adventure. all _iews would be greatly appreciated   |

Only problem i see with this is that a lot of people dont like traveling too far for socials due to kids n stuff so not really sure I dont think id travel any further than and hour /hour n a half max for a social .
But happy to give any advice you require in organising it ...Good luck xxx |

It a great idea but i really dont know if it would work as someone pointed out distance for a lot of people is a problem also local cheap hotels if there are a lot of people. Most socials are open to everyone from all over the country anyway as long as they are willing to travel so although there are the glasgow, ayr, aberdeen, fife etc they are still open to everyone not just local people so in a way it is already been done
However if you want any help just ask it really is just what the people want. The other issue i see here is if it is a really big one more chances of it getting out to people again and getting ruined, so security has to be a big thing and a lot of people dont like others knowning they swing |
