In real life, yes they do finish second. Women are all for a guy who treats them well but only up to a point. If you're always somewhere on time, never cancel a date, always call/text when you say you will, pay compliments all the time then they just get bored with you. They like someone to moan about to their friends, it keeps them interested in you.
Obviously going too far the other way is a mistake, they are not looking for a selfish arsehole. But they do like someone who lets them down occasionally rather than someone utterly dependable. |

In my experience yes, in terms of popularity and careers and money and that type of stuff, good people get fucked over. With women as well it can often be true.
I think the trick is choosing your battles, let the dickheads and bullies in the world be happy what they have but don't let that take anything away from how happy you are with what you have.
Easier said than done, of course. |

In my book the lady always comes first, and if that makes me boring or whatever, so be it.
However, I have come across some ladies who seem to like that attitude and the associated attention, so there you go!
