glasgow

After storing it away for a year or so due to costs we’ve bitten the bullet and fired it back up. Love just relaxing at the end of the day in it.

I’m the same, didn’t use it once last year and just at the weekend cleaned it all up so it’s like new again. £20/day I’m guessing to run nowadays which slightly sucks some of the fun out of it lol

I didn't get the hot tub out last year for one thing or another. I'm really hankering to set it up this year but worried about the costs incurred to keep it running

Don't use electricity to heat it.

Filling it from the hot tap and using the gas combi boiler will make the cost much less.

If you want to use it on a second day, drain a quarter of it, then top it up again from the tap.

When I had a hot tub my garden hose was plumbed into the hot water pipework.

Whenever I wanted cold water from the hose I switched the boiler off.

You may find the gas for your boiler is more than your electricity. I’m on oil and fill it from the house with hot water like you suggest but to leave it turning over at 37c costa about £20/day.

I like the idea of going halves or quarters with someone haha

Leaving it turning over using electricity is a waste of money.

A public swimming pool would have it's entire volume of water passing through the filters in two or three hours, so it's pointless to have a small hot tub running for 24 hours.

If it's been filled with fresh water and then topped up with fresh water, then that reduces the need for so much chemical addition and filtration.

My one got left at the marital home after a break up three year's ago.

I know energy prices have rocketed, but for a three bedroom house and a tub I was paying £90 pcm for electricity and only £80 for gas.

Sorry for lowering the tone of the conversation.

Will we go back to hanging towels from stiff nipples!
