Nice to see some people actually taking time out with useful suggestions.
Because the Loch is a major attraction for Scottish tourism those of us who live close to or on it take it for granted. We forget the beauty of it and the activities that can be enjoyed there.
If its outdoor sexual fun with or without the wife there is a multitude of different spots especially between Balmaha and Rowardennan to stop and enjoy.
Have had some magical moments and very enjoyable memories up and down that stretch of water, including the islands. |

Lovely warm log fire in the pub bit in the Oak Tree. Should be lovely place to stay. Been there a few times. Nice food, too.
There are also wee ferry boats that go around the islands, if like me you are not a paddler lol. Not sure if they are running right now though.
Just a nice area to chill out, relax and go with the flow. Lots of lovely wee spots. Enjoy your visit and if I'm there and I see you, I'll not say hi lol |

And maybe it's an age thing but anyone who thinks the east shore of Loch Lommond is nothing but trees is missing some lovely, peaceful, beautiful areas. Some lovely wee beaches, tranquil spots, walks and pubs, well, two lol.

if your driving, best to check out the scottish governments traffic info site - nadics.org. for updates on major roads.
The Trossachs road (A821 Dukes Pass) within the Lomand & Trossachs National Park is has been closed since the snow started. Not exactly by Loch Lomond itself but a good drive weather permitting.
Local radio Clyde 1 would also broadcast local traffic updates etc. |
