To be fair anything is better than the previous incarnation, we all know about the issues the owner had, the way he ran the place and what he did.

I've wanted to give the new owner a chance but everything is still so half-assed and there's no sign on here of any improvement.

Posts being put up by randoms, posts not being titled properly, events being announced at the last minute, the website is rubbish. Compare it to CJs and Afterdark's websites and Bacchus just isn't in the same league.

I really would like to give this place a chance and visit but there needs to be a reason to do so. At the moment there's none.

Recommendations have been made on here and fabguys and squirt. Questions get asked and nobody replies. Then a post like yours appears, people react and finally after several looks at your profile a member of staff finally replies albeit usually in part. It's easy to see why people have lost faith.

Not public shaming anyone, I'm stating the facts from their presence (or non-presence) on here and what their website currently looks like.

I've had discussions with the owner and given suggestions, based on my years of attending various clubs and my experiences. I'm not expecting them to be taken on board, but they've been given in the spirit of trying to help.

Nothing has changed, they've had months to get someone on board who knows how to do PR and nothing has happened. It's all very basic and we see no evidence of that changing. If you want that to improve and people to speak positively about the club, then give them something to be interested in. Why would I visit at the moment when there's nothing to interest me?

If you're unhappy about people expressing their opinions on a public forum, then go and help them out.

Further to that, we don't even know who the members of staff are because when people post about the club and you ask them if they're staff, they don't answer the question.

Basic PR dictates that announcements should come from the official club page, that's what a professional business should do. So why isn't that happening?

We went before it got took over and still go now personally I think it's run better it's a shame there is alot of hate since its been took over and that's where the bad press comes from but it depends on what u prefer a free for all very busy place or a more relaxed feel not as busy and controlled environment I suppose and I honestly think management is better for making everyone feel welcome safe and he's good crack I don't even think I met old management out the few times I was in before it got took over x

I don't know why you are mistaking concern for hate, that's a bit weird, as is assuming that busy nights are a free for all because that's not the case at other clubs.

We're aware the place is small and there's nothing the owner can really do about that, but no one is discussing the size of the place or the facilities, or feeling safe - it's the lack of any proper marketing and the ransom posts about it that we're discussing.

The bad press is sadly caused by the behaviour of the previous owner, which is why the current owner should be promoting the place and events prominently, to try and move away from that. It just doesn't seem very professional or enticing.

Every time the club puts event on it gets removed from the forum. We have asked why never get a reply back . We have tried to register the club kn club site so many times to no avail. So this is the situation. Not we aren't trying just keep getting removed.

Probably as its too vague. The mod has asked you countless amounts of time to put a date etc in the header.

From what I can see the marketing is so vague that it just makes the place seem shady and gives me the impression that it would be so quiet if I went. There's no enticement at all unfortunately.

Agree, club seems leaderless. Also that's another reason that puts us off, The is thought of going and you are there with 10 others and no atmosphere. Don't have too much free time and prefer to travel to cjs even though this is on our doorstep.

As someone who has been involved in Marketing I have got to say your missing the point.

Get 1 person involved in advertising events on here and stick to the forum rules.

Give people a reason to visit and the info they need and they will attend.

It's a good club and I know your trying to improve it. If you get the marketing right, you get the visitors and the income right

Do the club owners/organisers not have to put an event in the meets events section.

The 2 main clubs cjs and after dark its mainly people who are attending who put up forum posts to connect with others who may be attending. Therefore not promoting a business etc.

Maybe that's why when clubs/organisers who are essentially businesses aren't able to post on forum as these are not free or contribution to cost events.

Don't even know if that makes sense. It does in my head lol.

It's a shame they have no intention of repairing/ replacing the steam room. It was a good escape from the dry heat of the sauna.

Just from what I've seen mods post on other threads I think it's things like dates in title times of events possibly pricing listed also these things are never listed when events are posted and when people ask almost never replied too

@View just wondering if you could possibly reply to our previous messages, you have stated that you have messaged the club profile with regards to rules and regs But It would be extremely handy to share them in the public domain so we can all see the rules for ourselves to ensure that no one breaks the rules in the future

I can answer if you want

You can't spam events and you have to stick within site rules when posting, for example no links/ phone numbers/ exact postcode details/ mentioning other sites etc

You can't start threads on other parts of the forum including this one asking who is going on a certain night as that will look like you are trying to get round the amount of events you can post. You also can't use multiple profiles to post in.

Now the better bit.

Clubs or their hosts are allowed to post events in the event section. You are allowed three a week in there but they can't be the same one, if you have hosts they have to be counted in too. So for instance two hosts and one club can post different events.

I would look at putting the date and name in the header in there or they will get lost.

Good luck

We did have a thread a while back where the majority wanted meet requests to stay in this section, if most agree now then the events could be in here too as it would make sense to, however, you wouldn't be able to post in the event section too.

Either way we are taking away from the OP thread so lets get back to that please

Why not just have events in events. There are already threads for who's going on every night. Pre drinks of most nights. Clubs and events are easier to find in events.

There's a risk of the forum turning into an advertising section for clubs and events rather than a discussion forum

There’s about 60 plus clubs down south posting on the events page it gets lost hence why Scotland has its own forum

What’s the problem with people trying to get the message out with regards to events??

If no one knows about them how are people going to attend!??

And yea you can say you can look on the events section BUT this is the Scottish thread not the English thread!!! There are TONS of clubs down there and the thread is flooded with events and clubs from down south making it extremely hard for Scottish promoters & clubs to get the word out about their event…. Surly it makes sense to have somewhere easy to see all that Scotland has to offer

Again. I dont mean the club forum. I mean the event section in meets and events tab. Cjs and afterdark use it to advertise their events. Socials use it to advertise events.

If you filter it for scotland there are about a dozen.

They are in date order. They don't get lost in the forum or continually need commented on to keep them on page 1.

Its much quicker and easier to find events than forum searches. Try it for yourself... see if it works for your events. Think it goes 3 months in advance
