"I'm English bi open and welcoming. I rather love the air around a kilt. I'm always commando but this feels do freeing. I'm English in an Lgbt kilt. Are you OK with that. "
You do whatever makes you feel comfortable, anyone who chooses to have a problem with it needs to have a word with themselves

So as to not offend some people I'd say to check and see if there's a tartan associated with your family name.
But other than that you're free to wear a kilt if you want.
An American friend of mine worse a kilt to his wife's funeral. He did that, because his wife had always wanted him to get one, as one of his family on his mother's side had come from Scotland originally. |

That closes that discussion then. Gave your opinion and shot down anyone who disagrees in one fell swoop! |

If folk feel the need to judge how others dress, then yes they need to have a word with themselves because it's none of their business what others choose to do
Think some people need to lighten up |

Totally agree every time I go down South I like to dress up as a Morris dancer and people seem to get annoyed when they here my accent,or maybe it's my ginger hair |

As long as you wear it the correct way i.e. the length is right - personal bug bare of mine..
There are so many non clan tartans, specifically designed for those who just want a kilt...
The Scottish philistines of old will question a clan tartan and the wearers heritage.
Just tell them to go fuck themselves!
Wear the kilt with pride!!! Whoever and whayever you are |

I’d take it as a compliment that an English man wants to wear our national dress…just wear it correctly and respectfully and there are plenty of non clan tartans to choose from like the flower of Scotland or Scottish national for example |

Kilt is a great choice, especially on a busy night out after the rugby
Some people’s just can’t help themselves to know if you’re a practicing Scotsman
And for the question, anyone can wear what they like, so go for it, not like your stealing our heritage |
