A couple who appeared in court after being caught enjoying a mid-morning sex act in a public telephone box yesterday claimed: "We can't help ourselves – we're sex addicts."
The behaviour of ***** *****, 29, and his fiancée ***** *****, 23, was seen by customers and staff at a nearby chemist.
They were arrested and charged with a sexual breach of the peace.
Yesterday at Livingston Sheriff Court the pair pleaded guilty to committing a sexual act in public.
A not guilty plea to a second charge, alleging a similar offence in a busy shopping centre, was accepted by the Crown during a hearing before Sheriff Ian Fleming. Now the pair must wait for background reports before learning their fate.
Fiscal depute Danielle Clark had told how staff at the chemist spotted ****** performing a sex act on ****** near their home in West Calder, West Lothian, on 1 May this year.
Miss Clark said: "At about 9:45am a witness within McBride's Pharmacy saw both accused within the public telephone kiosk. ****** was clearly performing a sex act on the accused *******."
The couple, who said outside court they were "sex addicts", will be sentenced next year |
