We had arranged a meet one time near Falkirk and just before leaving had the garage check the car. Turned out we needed 2 tyres there and then and a wee bit of work meaning we were late. What excuses have u had for late or cancelled meets have left you thinking thats bullshit |

Best excuse i had was.." my daughters just gone into labour i have to go to hospital with her" from a woman who openly admitted to having no kids and couldnt have kids............ |

must admit,,,if that was your excuse to us,,,we would have thought you were talking bullshit too 
why wait until just before a meet to get yer car fixed???

Mine have ranged from the sublime to the ridiculous:
Favourite one of the moment seems to be that "oops, my period has just started, sorry..."
Others include
"Missed the last tube" when its nowhere close to midnight
"Too hard to get to you" when Im on the same tube line.
Then just general timewasting so that it becomes impractical to have a meet...
For unconfirmed meetings in advance - "too tired", "too much to do", "meeting someone else".
I even had one where I was in the car within 5mins of a text asking me to come round and she sent me one saying "dont bother, its too late" |

Ok they gave the excuse why they cancelled, but then they termed it "had" i think they meant gave*, is why i asked, you know,,, get an excuse or give an excuse, just that confused me. |

lol we were thinking the same auds lol.
Where you not supposed to be slipping into somthing sexy to go to your meet rather than getting your car checked lol unless you were getting under ur own bonnet checked by the mechanic before going lol.
We have heard a few tall tales and chalk them up to folks bottle crashing. if i was honest as a single guy turning up to meet a couple thats got to be pretty intimidating.
So did you go to the meet after getting your car fixed btw?? |

initial contact . . . like your profile, messaged for two weeks, night before meet squeezed a two minute girl on girl talk, 20min before leaving for meet - text received "see you full swap, sorry dont want to waste your time". Me thinks a bit late huh   |

We had a cpl cancel a meet an hr before as their daughter Took unwell...
Diffrent guy messages us askn if we want to go to a Party....guess who was on the guest list...Yip...the same cpl Lol...or the single guy 15 mins until we were due to meet saying his gf has just dropped their daughter off so she could go out Lol. |

In our defence we had came back from Liverpool on the Sun and the tyre seemed a bit goosed. On the way to the meet we went to have it checked in the garage and the guy told us it was a death trap and we needed the tyre changed. In our defence we made the meet |

Been late for meets certainly, more straightforward reasons hindered me,whoever you were meeting being told you were going to be a wee bit late due to a tyre change, then a wee bit work being done on car? Youd be forgiven for thinking you maybe were not going to make it, kinda would create a bit doubt in anyones mind?
We're on our way but gettin our car fixed,,,ohh,,eh ok, that kinda thing. |

We had a guy tell us once that he'd drove past our house numerous times trying to pluck up the courage to come in but couldn't. Disappointed he bottled it but had no issues with it because he was honest. Got straight back on and arranged another quicker than we could have got a Dominos delivered!
We now only meet people who're verified to avoid the first time bottlers! |

Thankfully its not happened too much over the four years i've been swining but happened all the same. I find it quite easy now to tell a timewaster and a genuine reason. |

We have had to use that twice, once a couple of days in advance and once on the day. After years of being regular as clockwork things have become a little erratic - an age thing I guess.

The last time I was stood up I got a text from him saying he was out of town on business, then about half an hour later I got a text from his wife saying he was hoping to be back in time. But both texts were from the same number. Some people just don't think. |

Family deaths kids taken to hospital and ex dropping kids off seems to be the biggest reasons and lots of verifications appearing later on saying great meet etc etc find it hard to believe these but because of my own home situation I try not to question it xx I often get let down by babysitters and have to cancel but try my best to even say hello and pop by to show face |
