We can’t always be on point - life dictates that the wonderful opportunity that you have presented, the meet you want or are looking for just falls in a day that doesn’t work.

So a wink is a yeah, a moment of desire, can we chat, or just plain and simple wow.

Don’t disrespect winks.

"Are they being disrespected?

"

So many profiles say they ignore winks - I understand if they are getting 50 messages a day - it all takes time I suppose.

So if someone sends me a wink and I look at their profile but they're not for me, am I being disrespectful?

I thinks serve a purpose.

It's like, I know your getting 100 messages a day and I'm not gonna get a reply but here's a notice of my interest that doesn't waste my time writing a message that will be ignored.

I like them. Though…

For me if I send a wink, I’ll always send a wee message too. Probably saying that I like the profile and that’s why I’d done it.

So it’s a wink and saying “hi”.

I send a message too as loads of folk don’t see the wink. I’ve read a lot of profiles that say that.

I’m the same in not seeing them, so that’s why I say on my profile, if you wink, just drop a message saying “hello”.

My comment was just really with peoples statement saying the ignore winks. Why not just ignore them - why the statement “we ignore winks”.

Negative statements on a profile reflect negatively about you.

It’s not a big thing just a thought.

Why point out on your profile you won't send pictures of the lady without permission? Why not just not send them? It reflects negatively on you.

Because its there profile and they put on it what they like. You or I or anyone else doesn't need to like or understand it.

I tend to use Winks as like an ice-breaker. An easy way for shy folk like me to say Hiya or something else.

However like the FQ/Rules imply a non-response to a Wink should be taken as a "No thank you".

Personally I always reply to Winks, if the Winker's message filters allow me to.

What's even the point of a wink? Could mean anything to the person taking the fraction of a second to tap it (assuming it's even on purpose). I figure anyone genuinely interested will send an actual message so tend to ignore them, but on the ofchance someone's sitting there waiting for some kind of response to one I suppose it's maybe better to be clear that's not the best way of getting my attention, it's not necessarily 'being negative'.

If you put that on your profile they may not send them.

Girls get so many messages, I think a wink is a nice easy non-intrusive way of saying, 'Take a quick look at my pics, if I'm not for you don't wink back'

Never thought of it as disrespecting me, if I don't get a win or a message back, just I'm not what the person was looking for based on looks....

I agree with Hank handsome

A wink is a nice way to appreciate the person and hint interest - if they wink back or reply then it’s mutual. If not, it’s a not for me/then.

Would be good to have a chat response to updates as lots of people put up an update requiring a response but then moan about tons of mail/messages
