"Is VAR destroying the World Cup ?"

Not just the World Cup but football as a whole.

Totally agree. Scared to celebrate a goal in case it's chalked off by one of these cheating bastards up here . By the time they say it is a goal the moment has passed and turned into an anti climax. Get rid of it.

Totally wasting the game.stop start stop start.

But..if its here to stay when there's a decision to be made why can't it be like tennis that you see the decision that's being made on the big screen.

That way everyone can see.

If it's used correctly it's good but unfortunately it's not.

It's not the technology, it's how it's used.

TMO works superbly well in rugby, VAR in football is so inconsistently used makes it a joke. Don't even start on what constitutes hand ball any more

It's taken the joy out of football. Don't know whether to celebrate or not and the way it's been implemented, especially in Scotland is just ridiculous.

It's the worst thing to happen to football!

Ok, Shit sport I have to disagree! However overpaid & overacting I have to agree with you.

I think FIFA could learn loads from Rugby. Although FIFA have been corrupt for years !!

Rugby keeps it simple that’s why it works. VAR was brought in for “clear and obvious errors” then pulling the play back because the player was half an inch offside 10 minutes before they score. It’s a complete farce and it’s taking the passion and enjoyment from the fans

In the west.

I think VAR has loads of ironing out before it will used properly. Rugby has 2 large screens that the ref can see, rather than run over to the side of the pitch. Spending time looking to see if someone is offside by half a baw hair is taking it too far. If it's marginal just let it go, that's been happening since the start of the game.

On another note could the ref do what they do in rugby and put the clock off when play is stopped for an injury to check VAR then when the clock goes red everyone knows when the ball goes out of play the game is over.

Who wanted VAR? That’s who is really ruining it. Players, managers and broadcasters all demanded it.
