My understanding is it’s a regulated job now? A relative used to do this and from what I recall there was certain training certificates and insurance etc they had to have? I’m sure someone with more up to date and in depth knowledge will reply.
In terms of finding such employees I think they mostly work through recruitment agencies? |

"How do I go about bouncers for an event(not that kind lol) in fife ?
And anyone a rough price ? "
You'd need S.I.A. door supervisors. Best place to get them from is a small local S.I.A. approved security company.
Can't help on price but get a few quotes before deciding. |

Any SIA approved company that provides door supervisors.
If you go on the SIA website, there is a list you can check, but most companies are fully regulated.
Depending on how many you want and the size of the venue, the price will vary. Expect to pay a security firm about £150-£300 to supply 1 door supervisor. He will probably only get half that or less depending what company you use and if its fixed our hourly rate. Anything over is negotiable with the individual but be clear on the hours.
Just a point to note, be specific on the type of door supervisor you want, I've seen doors given stewards that are SIA door supervisor licenced and the only work they have done is football matches and security at concerts.
When it got out of hand they were completely out their depth.
If you think you could have a bit of bother, tell the company so they can work it to fit your needs.

Yes SIA have regulated the business for a while now
Glasgow used to be the only city in the UK that licensed their stewards
Since around 2006/07 SIA have controlled everything
As for price, you would need to ask local security company as these can vary
Actual steward himself could possibly be working for minimum wage |
