Britannia have a horrid reputation, cleaning and maintenance seem very low on their priority list, lots of stories available online.

My dad stayed in one of their hotels recently and was told the room wouldn't be cleaned until he checked out, when his bin needed emptied he had to ask at reception and was given a new bin bag so that he could empty it himself.

As above. Britannia Hotels are horrifically bad. I actively avoid them when looking

There is a guy on YouTube that does travel videos on a lot of their hotels (walk with me tim) A lot of them are historic buildings but lack investment to maintain them.

Fife/ Newcastle

I wouldn't say in a Britannia Hotel if they payed me. The hotels resemble something out of life on Mars very 1970s.

"Yes, voted worst hotel chain in UK!"

And with good reason.

I heard from a coach driver who stayed in one (Scarborough?) who got his leg bitten by something while he slept. It was infected, and ulcerated needing antibiotics to treat.

Best pay a few quid more for a Travelodge or similar.

I’m gutted - that prem inn was good for a £50 room for a night at the theatre. From a quick look, the rooms seem to be at least £120 for weekend nights now. Not sure I’d risk £120 given what I’ve heard about Brittania.
