Messaging insults

Is there something wrong with some people that they feel the need to be rude/insulting about your profile? Had a good chuckle tonight at someone doing just that, but made me realise that other women wouldn't be able to deal with it in quite the same way as I do.
And for the benefit of any doubt, my user name was given to me, I didn't call myself this. Who am I to argue and my lovely guys seem to agree.
In this season of goodwill, come on people, be nice, be happy and let's not be Uncle Scrooge. Life is too short after all.

Lol I did reply with a one line sentence then blocked. But it got me thinking about others who I know aren't as confident in themselves who could take insults to heart. We've all seen the posts before. |

I had that too a wee while ago when a guy was trying to come onto me and it didnt quite go his way ..so he thought he'd then have a ago at how my profile was written just made me laugh really as i saw it as dummy well and truly spat  |

Quite incredible how guys can approach you trying to meet and when you have said no they then become abusive so I just tell them well you approached me ....doh!!! How stupid are they then they get blocked |

I take it this is not an isolated incident by your post and of course sexygoddesses post. We've not had this problem so far thankfully but certainly if we had, admin would be first port of call.
I wouldn't advocate admin actively monitoring pm's but I think if people are being abusive and threatening then admin should be examining the pm's with the users permission and if need be passing IP details to the relevant authorities. Most people have dynamic IP's (which mean they change) but given the time the message was sent an ISP can determine who is it is and take action.

Mine wasn't a problem with someone being abusive, just trying to insult me about my user name. However, I just found it funny. But it made me realise that not everyone would cope in the same way. Hence the thread. |

The threads about "abusive" not about twee women who shout "abuse" at the slightest critisism of them, nothing to do with, standing the heat, met some of them and i know they can take "the heat", there should'nt be any "heat" never mind abuse!!! And if you cant define the two, maybe thats your problem not anyone elses!! Are you feeling the heat yet??
That all said,im no perfect, its tempting to ping back as good as you get, message mr n mrs sexy fun couple who within one message you suddenly realise aint fun in fact by what they said very aint sexy either,still no licence to abuse people either!! If I couldn't stand the heat, I wouldn't be on here. But I have to say that for the whole time I have been on here, over two years in total, I have only received two negative comments. Think that says it all |

Some people can't take a thanks but no thanks message. They mail back, question why, then it becomes ping pong and abusive. Never fun. But mailing abuse or having a dig at someone in forums makes them seem so far up their own arses. Hey, merry Christmas all. And good luck. |

Everyone is entitled to their opinion but one thing I have noticed from so many other threads, there are always those who like to stir the pot so to speak. I also think I have made it clear throughout that I found the behaviour of the person who messaged me to be funny as opposed to upsetting. What puzzled me, and still does, is why someone would chose to behave in this manner when we had never communicated before. |

Thankfully there are so many lovely people on this site and I enjoy the social side as well as seeing some very lovely guys, I see not need, nor do I have any desire to, get out of the kitchen or lie on a cold floor!  |

I also think I have made it clear throughout that I found the behaviour of the person who messaged me to be funny as opposed to upsetting. What puzzled me, and still does, is why someone would chose to behave in this manner when we had never communicated before."

The aim of the person who sent the message was to upset me - he didn't have the desired effect, instead it made me laugh. I am, by way of this thread, standing up for those who WOULD have been upset byt what happened and lets face it, we all know that there are a lot of people on here who have considerable low self esteem. |

Ok, thanks, got you. And yes by its very hit or miss nature, swingings often not a great help to anyones self esteem. |
