In response to the size of women thread where we're reminded the average ladies size is a 16 these days, what is the average mens size? I'm guessing 36 inch waist, 40 inch chest? I haven't a clue. & despite height / build differences, what constitutes a slim, average or larger gent? |

The question is, according to national averages, does that make you slim, average or large? I'm guessing in decades gone by you'd be counted as average, but with people being bigger these days you'd be counted as slim?
I am asking cos I genuinely don't know. |

So would you say you prefer the "average" sized gent?"
No I'd say that constitutes a buff well built guy if he's 6'4 then he's large I like large rugby types but not large beer belly types, it's hard to define the average male nowadays because guys body shapes change alot more than women ie gym etc I see female friends and they rarely have massive changes shape or size guys they seem to bulk up one month lose it the next put a few pounds of the next constantly changing going by consumer market 34 waist 38 chest tends to be the majority |

I seeeee. See, you learn new stuff every day. I didbt really realise men's sizes changed more than ladies!
To be honest I stay more or less the same size all the time, give or take a couple of pounds. Doubt you'd like my wee 12 inch (estimated) biceps haha |

I am 15 and a half stone. 44 chest, 17 inch neck, 6 foot 7 and the bit is 7.5 inches. Always been bigger than average and regarded myself as slim but put a bit of weight on recently |

"rugby types to us guys usually means a former public skoolboy who cant handle his bevy "
Never went to public school and not posh. Rugby guys handle their drink better than footballers. We don't lie on the ground crying at a slight trip. I have played with broken nose, broken fingers cut on head. Tape it up an get on with it. game for men bud |

Any man worth their weight should own a good proper tailored suit which all of these measurements are required for and more |
