Hey folks

Bsically my marridge has ended i think beyond repair and i just have to get on with it! Still in the same house and all being civil but i just dont want to be here so needing an escape for a few days and thinking of a mini road trip. Just wondering if anyone had any good ideas or suggestions? I live on a farm anyway so i can get plenty peace and quiet whenever i want! Im wanting more lively, good busy pubs, ideally a cracking live band ect.....just anything!!

Planning on leaving today and if not definitely tomorrow

I harsh as it sounds, I would put your efforts into moving out and starting again.

If there is no resolve between you and your wife, staying in the same house will eventually have you both fighting due to you both wanting different things.

I don't know your circumstances so I'm only giving my opinion, but a clean break maybe your best and most amicable option.

I totally agree with you but its really complicated! There is the kids, the farm owns the house which im a partner in. Without doubt it will be a major shit storm to sort out!

Take it as it comes mate. I was in the exact same position as you.

Our farm was leased which did help in the final stages.

There must be a curse on Angus farmers.

Go north. The further up the more beautiful it is if you just want peace and quiet. Lovely little pubs. Check out airbnb if you just want a room. Good luck. It's a horrible time but the time away will do you good

Might be s bit far but I highly recommend Wales.

Always had a fantastic time when I've been visiting.

Cardiff is a scream, but you have the coastal places like Porthmadog and Tenby if you don't fancy the city.

The female population are also very welcoming socially

Would love to go to Cardiff but thats maybe pushing it at the moment. I'm sure a lovely welsh woman would take my mind off things! Actually any women who has great chat and makes me laugh would be good! Soon forget about things when your fully immersed in someone elses conversation. Never thought i would say this but sex is the furthest thing from my mind....at the moment anyway

I'm biased, but the Highlands are pretty great. Welcoming, lots of little pubs!

Inverness is amazing for pubs & live local music too. Spent many a happy evening lurking in Hootenanny's!

Plus, Inverness has a nice strip club

That's you thinking with your big head and not the one in your pants.

Kudos.

Don't let the site consume you either. I assume you will be busy at the moment, which can be a good thing.

I've got 6250R in bits if you get bored. Your more than welcome to attempt to assemble it again, if not you can help me torch it lol

What like is it during the week? As in tonight, tomorrow night? Just want somewhere busy, as in not dead. Somewhere where i can get slowly pissed without looking a complete sad case!

Stripclubs have crossed my mind but think that maybe a bit sad on your own!? Do love a beer or 2 in a stripclub although i don't think i could ever go to a strip club if it didnt have bar if it makes sense!? Its having a drink with mates but just happens to be there is beautiful women wondering around without much clothes on! Anyway, im just rambling now!

Yeah man don’t go to a strip club on your own, it’s a bit sad. However, be a good laugh if you get speaking to a fem and she can take you….I mean, there’s a really attractive one in this thread that suggested it……that surely deserves a little pm

Shoot your shot and all that

Hootenanny's have live music every night from tomorrow, and you'll definitely not look like a sad anything sitting having a bevvy whilst you listen & watch!

I'll also have strong words with anyone who says otherwise about going to a strip club alone. Unless it's different rules for women, as I've been in there a fair few times alone for a drink!

Just nice to have a decent view whilst you unwind!

The love of my life left me several years back. I adored her with all my heart yet off she went with some twit from work.

It took me ages to normalise myself, my advice is to do exactly what you are doing. Move on now and don’t waste your life thinking about your loss.

Wish to fook I had…

I would totally agree with that as in having a nice view as you have a drink. I just feel guilty when im not too fussed about getting a private dance as i know thats how they make there living. I just have to say im a farmer and they think tight bastard

I've been to plenty of strip clubs alone, they aren't seedy backstreet little places any more, it's nice to sit there having a beer chilling watching the world go by

I think i have prepared myself as well as i can. Had a really good weekend and thought all ok, she goes to work on Monday, comes home and thats it. You could almost see she was happy about it! Anyway, shit happens and it is brutal and its impossible not to feel down about it but fuck that. Im not jumping for joy as i wanted to save things but her choice and i refuse to let it bring me down. That book is closed now and next chapter is away to start. Change dosnt have to bad, dont get me wrong, its scary as fuck but dosnt mean things wont be better. Im not even needing to talk to friends about it or anyone as what difference will it make? Its almost like i refuse let her waste my time, there are far more interesting things, fun laughter to be had talking about anything else!

If there is no resolve between you and your wife, staying in the same house will eventually have you both fighting due to you both wanting different things.

I take it you will be the key worker, the main supplier and the one who keeps the farm in order.

Is there no cottages or farm accommodation where you or your wife can live.

This is a busy time for the farming community whether live stock or grain. Surprised that you can find the time at this busy period.

Hope all sorts itself out

I am the farmer/owner/partner. Houses all occupied with other family members. Early harvest so mostly done and too wet to do anything else and next couple of days look shit. The rest will manage and they will get a break from me! Now if the sun is shinning and it was dry it would be a different story! Taking the chance while i can

Had made up my mind to go to edinburgh but it is so fucking expensive for a couple of nights! I just need a bed to crash into after i have a good night out and im suitably merry! More than a couple of hundred quid a night for a travel lodge

Admittedly thats in the center but like being in walking distance when the beer compass is activated!

I sorta know where you're coming from, but for different reasons.

I too would love to just go away for a couple of weeks, come back and everything was "fixed" but that's not real life.

Get yourself away for a few days, even book a B&B somewhere that's not home. Take the time to think things over and plan what you want to happen going forward.

Although "north" has been suggested, why not go to Blackpool, I'm sure there's a club or two down there.

As for being single in your mid-40's I'm in the same boat, and it'll be a while before I even think about not being single, but it'll be awkward for me, I mean how do you get it over to a woman that you're a bi-TV? I can't remember how I brought it up in the past

I know it's a sterotype, but nowadays when folk think farmer, they often think of the rugged good looking folk that are also loaded.

I think Edinburgh for some hussle and bussle for a few nights. Going tomorrow so least i get friday night too. Meeting a friend tonight to go and tell him first as all family been told.

Genuine question, how do people tell everyone? Is it best just to send a generic text to all you know? Obviously my closest friends i will tell in person but there are loads of others i should inform. I do have a few people i know, if i told them, then they would tell everyone else before i had finnished speaking!

Tell the people close first. Family, close friends etc. After that you can work on people that knew both of you, but weren't directly involved in your life. After that anyone else.
