Got tickets for Robbie Williams today and John just been on the phone to his mate and made a comment about middle aged women - their then ensued a heated debate about what age is middle aged?

God I hope not! I too young to be middle aged! I think 50 is closer to it... But if everyone lives to 90 say, and you have young, middle aged and old... Then 0-30 is young 31-60 is middle aged then 61-90 is old... Maybe. |

baby 0-1 1/2
toddler 1 1/2 - 3
child 3 - 12
teenager 13 - 19
young 19 - 30
????? 30 -45
middleaged 45 - 60
old 60 - 70
elderly 70 +
the ??? i didn't have a clue what they would be called. |

well if you live to the average age of 87 for men and 92 for women then it stands to reason that middle age is 5 years either side if 43 for men and 46 for women. If your at this point you would know what you want in life including sex. |

middle means just that, so 50 isnt middle unless your going to live to 100, so 38 would be middle aged according to national stats ...sorry folks, we are all old !!!! |

Isn't there some sorta nonsense about standard distribution curves (or the like) which insists there's weighting at either end and volume in the middle, without actually indicating where the 'middle' lies'? |
