Yep, a fish supper north of Forfar/ Montrose way will set you back over a tenner and, AND, the basturts up here are stingey with their salt and vinegar! |

Chinese takeaways are now giving the dishes but without including rice or chips I've noticed, these are charged as extra! Pfft! |

The reason fish shops are being affected so bad is the price rise in energy. The gas shortage caused by the Ukraine invasion is the main reason it is "getting out of hand"
I was speaking to the guy in my local chippy yesterday and he was pretty damming about it, said he thinks 50% will close in its current state. This is sad |

I had a lovely fish at leith last weekend no idea how much it cost as my lovely friend paid but it was delicious .
I nipped into their fish mongers next door too and bought some lovely seafood yes it was expensive but in my opinion you get what you pay for !Xx |

A rep from their industry association was on the radio last week saying that they expect pretty much every fish and chip ship in the country to be closed within 12 months. |
