In at least some councils it is an option to take it. There are 12 "holidays" that you get. 6 are compulsory, two at Easter, Christmas and New Year and the other 6 such as the 29th and the May bank holidays are optional. You can take it or use it whenever you wish. Maybe some other employers do similar. Some just don't give employees anything these days. |

At least we have moved on from the 80's when you were lucky if your employer gave you holiday pay, as it was called back then. |
