Ovens are sometimes just a 3 pin plug but the hob has to be wired to the mains and something tells me although it is a routine job that it should be carried out by a qualified electrician.
I am sure you can get someone to do it for a lot less. |

Depending on what you had before, it is a pretty straight forward job.
We replaced ours last year and Jim done it himself. He is a competent DIY'r though.
The fee quoted seems excessive for what is a 10 min job. Sounds like company call out charge |

if it requires wiring directly into the mains then you must get a qualified spark to do it otherwise you will be invalidating your product guarantee and more importantly, your house insurance should your house go on fire |

I had a nightmare with mine gas job electric oven had to pay two engineers to do it couldn't find any gas/electric certified engineers now however I'm qualified myself to do it |

I agree.
It is more a handyman job putting in the tails than having the installation modified, but does need a competant person to do the job.
