No offence at all. They are basically the same thing, men who dress up as women but apparently it's more socially acceptable to refer to them as cross dressers nowadays, rather than being called transvestites x

A CD and a TV are often technically the same thing, however a TV is usually a higher effort than a CD, fully dressed, make up, wig etc... And its not just for sexual reasons, unlike the CD where it usually is.

The Tgirls seen out and about in clubs/public arent CD or TV, they are transgender/trans/TG... if moving towards the operation they are a TS,

Because when they’re at the TG stage

A transvestite is a word used to describe people who dress in clothes of the opposite sex. A crossdresser is the same. A transexual is a person who is changing sex either from male to female or female to male. There are many terms in use.

HPW TV CD Tgirl TS Shemale.

In this day and age, if someone wants to identify as a helicopter and get away with it, labels such as Trans, Trannie, TV, CD, Shemale, Woman, Lady etc should be up to the individual and not defined by loose guidance based on old stereotypes.

If in doubt, don't be a nob, and just ask.

TV-someone who dresses as the opposite sex and often adopts that persona.

Cd-someone who dresses in clothes intended for the opposite sex because they like the way it feels, they do not adopt the persona.

If you want to know what all the letters or words mean, listen to someone with TV/TS after their username. Everybody else just has 2nd hand information.

"If you want to know what all the letters or words mean, listen to someone with TV/TS after their username. Everybody else just has 2nd hand information."

Also I suppose there definition of the terms would not be the same. You may get some similarly explanations but I doubt that they would all match.

They certainly wouldn't match yours.

Cd-someone who dresses in clothes intended for the opposite sex because they like the way it feels, they do not adopt the persona. "

this has always been my idea of the difference

Wow: but if a watershed moment for me reading that, that’s the best description/definition I’ve heard.

Had made me realise I’m sometimes more towards CD, others I go the full TV with occasional, mostly temporary thoughts heading into the TG scale of the spectrum.

"After a while here and it's an TV/cd so what makes the difference other than the obvious danglybbits "

Most of us consider CD's to be those of us who dress occasionally whereas transvestites dress 24/7.

The definition of "occasionally" can vary of course.
