giant leap of faith

when i arrange a meet i only ever worry about whether the person is gonna show up, or if it is going to lead to someone finding out about me on the site, it never crosses my mind that something could go wrong and i might come to any harm or the like.

i have to be careful what i say here, but there is a story in the papers the last couple of days that involves someone that i have met from this site and its very serious indeed, and its put in to perspective how much of a leap of faith you are taking when you meet someone no matter how well you think you know them.

does anyone ever think about this, should you always let someone know where you are going to be etc etc??

Its quite scary actually when you think of all the things that could happen taking a leap of faith is very risky business hence i think its always better to build up some trust before going any further with things xx

i for one think it's less risky than going off with someone from a pub/club etc.....if something untoward does occur then at least there will be a trail from your pc to the culprit

i think any meet from here is a leap of faith, u cant say you fully know someone, just cos you've seen there pics and also been chatting on here for ages before you meet......

No you cant but that social meet goes a long long way in helping you make up your mind about someone and if you have any doubts about them at a social meet then at least you can walk away .

But however your are totally right in saying that you dont really know someone fully and some cant turn out to be not quite the person you thought they were as ive learnt myself

i think you might have missed my point which is a rather serious one......when you leave for a meet, does it ever go through your head that you might not come home again? im not talking about a leap of faith wether the person will look like they do in the picture, or will they have BO.
