Hi as a wheelchair user and new to the site, I would be interested in what experience other members have had either as a wheelchair user or not. In either finding fun or entertaining a wheelchair user. Hope that makes sense |

Well CJs would definately be a no go for you as I find it strange that they do not have a lift and play rooms are upstairs
So discrimination against wheel chair users and people with mobility problems with stairs ![](/icons/s/razz.gif) |

"Still involves stairs
How can a wheel chair user use that "
I don't think OP was looking for a club in particular. Good on you for throwing another dig in there though.
Bert, I believe you can get to that part of the club without using stairs. If you would be interested in going, you can always get in touch with them to find out about accessibility.
As for experiences on this site as a wheelchair user, I couldn't really give you any insight. Sorry x |

I have in touch with CJ and they informed me that play rooms are upstairs. Polo lounge no go so clubs are out. So my question is this would you meet a wheelchair user at his home or for a social?

I agree with ya.No one should be at any disadvantage than anyone else.
I've known a Male and also a Female on here in the past who actively had occasional fun.It never stopped them due to their mobility or disability.
Good on you OoP for voicing. ![](/icons/thumb_up.png) |

If you were looking to socialise you would have access to downstairs in cjs as there is a ramp to access kitchen, bar, dance room and pole room basically all downstairs. It's a good way to get to meet people with incentive to arrange future meets. |

Because of the age of the building etc would be exempt from adding in certain features I’m not sure the expense or practicality of putting in a lift in such an old building and the layout
Downstairs in the social areas there are ramps and every room is accessible by wheelchair it’s only when it comes to getting upstairs |

There’s a ramp in the quiet room that takes you past the two stairs in the hallway you mention but I’m sure if any wheelchair user was to attend and needed assistance getting upstairs and didn’t mind being bodily assisted then the staff and regulars would help out
I think you’ll find that there are no clubs in the uk have lifts to other levels within their clubs |

There has been wheelchair users attend the paisley pub quiz assisted to and from their car by other quiz team members, some of the places that bigger social events have been held have been wheelchair accessible and some because of building regs and exemptions haven’t been it’s a hit and a miss
At TG at the weekend the venue wasn’t wheelchair friendly but there were plenty of physically disabled individuals in attendance some using sticks to assist with walking, I suppose it would depend on how much you require your wheelchair and how much of your independent means you wish to give up to attend places and events and as a wheelchair user you will be fully aware this is a general every day occurrence
