You should have worked harder at school mate. Then you could have gone somewhere decent for your holidays.

If sky's are clear go to the dark sky area see the stars without light pollution . The football golf if it's still there and generally travel along the southern coast some lovely beaches to find .

Pretty much this.

Southerness is campsite caravan site city.... that's basically all that's there. So unless you are at a site there is nothing. Literally nothing apart from a beach...

They still use payphones...

You have to drive miles to get to civilisation.. I.e. Glasgow!

Some negative stuff on this thread.

I’ve never stayed in Southerness but I’ve played the golf course and it’s great.

Rather than being a boring sod that’s only stayed in a caravan for a weekend and pissed it up in the bar one wet weekend and now greetin about that one solitary experience; get yourself out and about and explore Dumfries and Galloway region. Hills, fishing, forestry, nice towns and great biking roads and Mountain biking trails.

I’m not in the tourist board but did live in the area and it bugs me that people seem to think you have to go north of Perth to find “Scotland”

We have been a few times as a friend has a van there. It’s remote with not much to do unless you go to the pool and bar. Entertainment on at night but never went. Good to chill and relax.
