deckGive me your suggestions..
Looking for:
Good mix of ages in the clientele.
Unpretentious clientele. This is a must. I'm not into pubs with where folk are decked out in designer gear.
Good mix of music that you can dance too.
Preferably City Centre but not a must.

"First person to suggest the Counting House or any other Wetherspoons venue is going to get a dry slap from me. "
I'd rather get a dry slap from you than a kick in the baws from the devine Double M. |

To answer the question - My advice whenever asked that is to suggest you head to Merchant City around Merchant Square. So many different venues there within 100m or so you will be bound to find something that works for everyone.
Plenty food options round there too. |

Howling Wolf is always a good shout, music is good, so is the food + drink.
Rufus T Firefly or Maggie Mays if you like Rock music, Malones in the centre if you like Irish music, Park Bar in the West End if you like Scottish music.
Can't help with English music. Morris Dancing? |

"The Clutha and The Scotia (conveniently located across the road from each other) "
Ah yeah, haven't been to the Clutha in ages. Last time I went they started up some Reggae music session - which was pretty cool |

"Venue not important is the people you're with that make the night.
"
True, but some wee neddy woman nearly set about me one of the last nights out I had with a friend. So looking to avoid the roasters too. |

"Delmonica's, such a great inclusive atmosphere, you don't have to be anything particular to have fun. "
I have only been in there once, before LD and it was during the day. It was great afternoon. |

I was in there one night for a fab social, believe it or not. We were upstairs and moved the tables out the way for dancing. It was a great night x |

Videos keep on popping up on my FB...always looks jumping.

The State on Holland Street, just off Sauchiehall. Great boozer, very mixed clientele from old boys to students. The music on a Friday and Saturday night is great (if rock, indie and American 90s classics are your thing) |

The quarter gill has its fair share neds. It can be a really good night but the clientele can be rough.
The horseshoe is similar themed, karaoke type pub, but not as neddy.
Both pubs are very very busy and getting a seat can be difficult.

The Quarter Gill starts a good night but the couple
Of times we’ve visited we’ve seen some terrible fights at the end of the night. We wouldn’t go back. |

One to avoid then.
I don’t even drink when I'm out as I like to have my wits about me. My last altercation was with a pissed female. |

The Strip Joint in Finnieston is good. Maggie Mays in Merchant City is open late and is great for a 90s indie kid vibe. |
