Glasgow

I'm not a fan of hotel dinners. I always get the feeling the hotel knows it has a bit of a captive audience and reflects that in the quality and the price.

The last hotel dinner I had was in the Malmaison - only this one was in Leith. Nothing wrong with the food but I couldn't but feel I could have had better in more welcoming surroundings in half a dozen places within 100 yards.

Stourbridge

Lochgreen Troon for fine dining and fabulous service.

Highgrove House Troon. We've stayed her several times and the restaurant is always full

even if the hotel isn't.

I know it's same as the breakfast thread, but the food is excellent. Have taken overseas work colleagues and customers to both , year to have a remotely negative reaction, in fact the opposite, they ask if they can go again.

No, we don't have any connection to the place before you ask.

Some nice places to eat in Stockbridge too!

Yeah it's always good but they have had the same menu for years, gets boring after a while.

Allan Mawn, who opened the Frog, died nearly two years ago now. He's still missed in and around Glasgow.

He was only 54.
