How lucky or unlucky are you?

Jump to: Newest in thread

By (user no longer on site) OP     over a year ago

Day out with Mr and the sprogs yesterday.

A seagull shat on my son's head. This is the 4th time this has happened to him in recent times.

Surely to fuck we must be due a lottery win....

Do you think you are lucky or unlucky? Or do we make our own?

It's meant to be good luck when a bird shits on you

"It's meant to be good luck when a bird shits on you "

Trying telling the wee man that. He was just getting tore into his double scoop of mint chocolate chip when the seagull decided to drop it's cargo. Mr had to resuscitate me on the pavement. Tears were literally blinding me

I've had a run of bad luck in the last few months regarding a new job. Now I've found out the buses are going on strike on the week I start, that really is bad luck and bad timing! Something out there telling me it's not meant to be

Maybe. Had something similar happen last week. Sometimes things are just meant to be and there's nothing you can do about it.

I was down on the coast watching the sun go down last night whilst eating a fish supper, in the car. There was a group of women eating theirs at a bench on the dunes, no feckin way.

The place is out in Stobhill, first week is there for training and then one day a week afterwards. First Bus are apparently going on strike on the 4th and 5th May and it looks like it's going on until July x

Stobhill is only about a 10-15 min walk from Springburn train station (roughly a mile)

I think it’s a bit subjective and perhaps it’s how the person feels, their outlook if you like. I’m speaking in a more general sense but there are people who cope with great difficulties in life yet always find the good, often they are the ones find humour in life’s ups and downs too. Then you see people who obviously have a lot to thankful for yet are eternally discontent and bemoaning all the things they don’t have. In general everyone catches some kind of shit bullet, some worse than others and some more than one. Personally I’ve always found that even when something awful has happened there’s always been support or something has saved the situation from being really disasterous. But then I’ve never had a seagull steal my chips or my ice cream… YET

This is true...was listening to a podcast the other day about happiness. Crux of it was finding something, anything, to be grateful for every day ensured some degree of happiness. And if you're happy despite life's ups and downs, then I suppose you're lucky too.
